Rasoree 2024

Introduction:

Grafton Scout Group embarked on an adventurous journey to Rasoree 2024, held at Camp Eagle Eye in Glenreagh, nestled within the Mid North Coast hinterland. The event attracted Scouts spanning from ages five to 25, accompanied by their adult Leaders and helpers hailing from a vast geographical range, stretching from Camden Haven in the south to Murwillumbah in the north. Rasoree 2024 promised a weekend filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a plethora of engaging activities.

Activities:

Upon arrival, Scouts were greeted with a plethora of exhilarating activities that set the tone for an action-packed weekend. Saturday saw the camp buzzing with energy as Scouts enthusiastically participated in a diverse range of offerings. From scaling the climbing wall to engaging in adrenaline-pumping laser tag battles and testing their speed in billy karts, there was something to captivate every Scout's interest. The allure of escape rooms, requiring collaborative problem-solving to crack codes and break free, proved immensely popular, prompting organizers to accommodate additional sessions to accommodate the demand.

Furthermore, the festivities continued with circus workshops, a refreshing splash zone complete with a thrilling slip 'n' slide, and the debut of "North Coast Scouts Got Talent, " curated and hosted by two enthusiastic Rover Scouts, Harrison and Evelyn. This talent showcase provided a platform for Scouts and Leaders alike to showcase their skills, fostering an atmosphere of creativity and expression.

Market Day:

Sunday morning heralded Market Day, an eagerly anticipated tradition at Scouting events, offering Scouts the opportunity to engage in the age-old practice of buying and selling handcrafted souvenirs and collectibles. Facilitated by the use of the "RAS dollar," Scouts indulged in bartering and trading, forging connections with their peers from across the North Coast region. Market Day served not only as a marketplace but also as a social hub, fostering friendships and camaraderie amongst Scouts of all ages.

Color Run and Conclusion:

The crescendo of Rasoree 2024 culminated in a vibrant display of color with the exhilarating Color Run, where laughter and joy painted the atmosphere as youth members and Leaders alike reveled in the spirited festivities. As the weekend drew to a close, memories were etched in the hearts of all participants, commemorating an unforgettable experience marked by adventure, camaraderie, and the spirit of Scouting.

Conclusion:

In reflection, Rasoree 2024 stands as a testament to the resilience and spirit of the Scouting community, transcending geographical boundaries to unite Scouts in a celebration of adventure and friendship. Grafton Scout Group extends their heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and fellow Scouts for crafting an extraordinary weekend brimming with memories to last a lifetime. As North Coast Region Commissioner Belinda Howell aptly remarked, Rasoree 2024 was not merely a camp; it was a monumental gathering, eclipsing previous events and reaffirming the indomitable spirit of Scouting in the North Coast region.
